Sport Lisboa e Benfica voted against the Portuguese Football Federation's budget for 2026/27. Benfica's disagreement arose due to the significant increase in expenses, especially with personnel, which rose to 159.1 million euros. FPF president Pedro Proença considered the budget robust and prudent, highlighting record revenues and aspects approved at the General Assembly. Benfica disagrees with the increase in expenses, but also with the lack of fulfillment of promises related to professional football, such as the distribution of betting revenues. Sporting voted in favor, although making it clear that they await follow-up from Pedro Proença, the federative leader, on the promises. FC Porto and the League of Clubs abstained from voting. The budget anticipates a record revenue value and points to a positive balance of 2.8 million euros. The FPF president considered the plan of activities and budget as 'robust, but prudent'. The FPF was certified, for the first time, with the international standard for anti-corruption management system.
